Ikea is planning to build a retail park as well as a second department store in Serbia. The news comes about six months after it opened a department store in Bubanj Potok, near Belgrade. The Swedish retailer intends to add a 30,000 sqm retail park on a plot adjacent to its Bubanj Potok store, which recorded 1.23 million visitors since opening last August. Ikea will invest about €50m in the project. A second Ikea store is in the works for the Serbian capital, close to the airport, as well as a number of collection points across Serbia in Subotica, Novi Sad and Nis.
