Ikea Retail Polska posted a record 14-percent jump in sales for its 2014 fiscal year, which closed at the end of September. Sales hit PLN 2.38bn. This makes Poland the Swedish retailer’s fastest-growing EU market in sales for the fourth consecutive year. “Our ambitions in Poland are quite high, with plans to expand sales to PLN 16bn within the next 20 years, with a series of new openings planned for this period,” said Evelyn Higler, CEO of Ikea Retail in Poland.
Ikea’s Polish network includes eight stores, with another seven retail centers and parks underway by Inter Ikea Centre Group Poland. The company also operates a regional distribution center in Jarosty, near Piotrków Trybunalski, which supports its stores in Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria and Hungary.
