Ikea’s first store in Croatia has recorded HRK 535.9m (€70.7m) in sales in its first year of operations, which is 15 percent more than the retailer had estimated. The Swedish retailer entered the Croatian market in August 2014 with the opening of its Zagreb store.
Ikea’s Croatian and regional director, Stefan Vanoverbeke, says that HRK 508.1m was brought in by store sales, while it made an additional HRK 27.8m in its restaurant, bistro and Swedish food shops.
Nearly 2 million customers visited the Ikea store in Zagreb, while the store’s website recorded almost 4.7 million visitors.
