IKEA to limit customer numbers during reopening

7 May 2020

IKEA will open its four stores on May 11 in the Czech Republic, but it’s not going to be business as usual, at least at first. Just 1,200 customers will be allowed in at one time in the chain’s stores in Prague and Brno, while the maximum in Ostrava will be 600. Once this limit is met, security will prevent further customers from entering the buildings. The restaurants, which are a big draw for the home furnishings specialist, will remain closed and no food consumption will be permitted. All employees will be required to wear masks and gloves and they will monitor customers to ensure they are leaving 2 meters between themselves. Customers will also be allowed to enter the store only with facial coverings for their mouth and nose and will have hand disinfectant available.
