Heitman is one step closer to adding the Karolinka and Pogoria shopping centers to its regional portfolio, after the Polish antimonopoly office KNF approved the acquisitions this week. The sellers are Karolinka Investments and Pogoria Investments, both owned by MGPA. Once the deal is closed, the properties, totalling 100,000 sqm, will be placed in Heitman’s fund, managed by HEPP IV Management Company. The 70,000 sqm Karolinka shopping center offers 130 retail units in the city of Zaodrze, while Pogoria, located in Dąbrowa Górnicza, has 30,000 sqm of space. Both projects were led by the French developer Mayland, who offloaded the properties in 2009 for €187m.
