Kúšik of Penta to buy retail chain Sportisimo

Former Penta partner Martin Kúšik has won exclusivity among ten investors competing to buy the Sportisimo retail chain. Kúšik offered the highest price for the number one sports retailer in the Czech Republic, founded by two Vietnamese businessmen. Kúšik was competing for pole position in the acquisition with international investment funds that included Mid Europa Partners and Enterprise Investors. Hartenberg fund, owned by Czech finance minister Andrej Babiš and Czech billionaire Tomáš Němec also showed interest. Česká spořitelna is overseeing the sale for the Vietnamese owners. The sale price has been estimated in the vicinity of CZK 3bn, writes MF Dnes.
