Lee County gives go-ahead on Whole Foods anchored retail plaza in Fort Myers

11 October 2016

S.J. Collins Enterprises has been given the green light from the Lee County Commissioners for the development of the Daniels Marketplace in Fort Myers. The 45,000 sqf retail center will be anchored by a Whole Foods Market. Located at the northwest intersection of Daniels Parkway and Ben C. Pratt/Six Mile Cypress Parkway in south Fort Myers, the site is currently home to a 16.5-acre driving range and an adjacent existing stormwater pond. The center will include fast-casual dining, boutique retail, outdoor dining options and other high-end shops. Construction is slated to begin by the end of 2016 or early 2017, and the project could be open by summer 2018.

“We’re thrilled that this project unanimously received approval, and we appreciate the support by the community, staff and commission,” S.J. Collins Enterprises partner Jeff Garrison says in the statement. “We’re proud to help bring the first Whole Foods Market to Fort Myers, along with several other exciting retail stores.”
