22 May 2020

The discount grocery store operator Lidl is putting the final touches on a new store in Suwanee, Georgia, an opening that will be significant because it’s the 100th location the company will open in the United States. Lidl US Chairman Roman Heini called it an important milestone for the company and said its expansion in North America was progressing quickly. “We plan to continue to build new stores, ramp up our hiring efforts and expand our network of distribution centers to reach even more customers in the years ahead. We look forward to forging new and strong relationships with everyone who helps make our journey possible.” The store will be the sixth Lidl has in the state of Georgia, where it employs over 200 people. It’s also in the midst of constructing a distribution center in the state that will employ another 270 people full-time and serve the company’s regional needs.
