Low demand for retail specialists on Polish market

28 November 2014

Demand for a highly skilled workforce in Poland’s retail sector remains low, claims Michał Konopa, an associate at Tara HRC. Retail professionals were the least recruited specialists on the Polish market this year, according to Konopa, despite the country’s growing convenience and e-commerce segments.

Konopa points out that while the country’s retail market is now witnessing lower activity from international buyers, supply in the sector is expected to drop by a heavy 24 percent by the end of the year to 495,000 sqm. In addition to this, according to Puls Biznesu, Poland’s e-commerce market is expected to increase by 7 percent next year.

This could impact growth in Poland’s retail sector. On the other hand, demand for projects managers and fit-outs specialists is growing, but they’re usually being outsourced, according to official data.
