Lukoil selling Czech petrol stations to MOL

Russian oil producer Lukoil appears set on selling a network of 44 petrol stations across the Czech Republic to the Hungarian oil company MOL. A further 75 Lukoil locations in Hungary and 19 in Slovakia will be taken over by Norm Benzinku Kft. Lukoil wrote the decision was driven by an effort optimize its business activities. MOL, meanwhile, has been expanding in recent years, having recently added Italian Eni’s Czech, Slovak and Romanian units to its network of 1,700 filling stations. The acquisition of Lukoil stations will bring its total number of filling stations in the Czech Republic to 318.
