Macedonia’s retail price index decreased 1 percent y-o-y in May, while the consumer price index fell by 0.7 percent, according to the State Statistical Office. Compared to April, the consumer price index in May increased to 100.5, while the retail price index increased to 100.3.
The 0.5-percent q-o-q increase in the May consumer price index was mainly driven by a jump in the indices for potatoes (14.7 percent), hospital services (14.6 percent), fresh or chilled fruit (9.1 percent), motorcycles (6.9 percent) and fresh or chilled vegetables (6.6 percent).
