Retail turnover on the Macedonian market increased in August 2016. The groups with the biggest y-o-y growth included food, beverages and tobacco (11.4 percent), non-food products, excluding fuel (25 percent) and the retail trade, excluding automotive fuel (18.6 percent).
The retail sector helped drive the country’s economic growth in 2015, with the GDP increasing by 5.8 percent y-o-y, according to preliminary data published by the State Statistical Office.
