Maj department store to offer pop-up stores until 2020

31 May 2019

The developer Amadeus Real has cleared out the Maj department store next to Quadrio at Narodni trida in Prague 1 ahead of a complete reconstruction of the building scheduled to begin in 18 months. While the project is prepared, however, it will be inviting companies to rent space in the building on a short-term basis. As well as allowing the building to produce some cash flow, by keeping some level of activity and life in the building, it will maintain a certain level of public awareness about the space. Amadeus claims that 70,000 people per day pass come through the location, which is a major transportation hub thanks to the metro station and multiple tram lines running by the Maj building. Maj, a traditional department store built in the 1970’s, was renamed “My” by Tesco when it bought and remodeled the property.
