The wholesaler Marko Cash & Carry wants to expand its reach and is currently in negotiations with owners of small local grocery shops interested in opening Makro franchises around the Czech Republic. The plans include opening 100 outlets called Můj obchod by the end of the year, Marko Cash & Carry Director Axel Hluchy told the economic daily Hospodářské noviny. A pilot store was already launched in Prague’s Průhonice district. Hluchy said similar networks are currently operating in Poland, Bulgaria and Romania.
