Makro is building a culinary center next to its store in Prague 5-Stodůlky. The wholesaler wants to invest CZK 80m into the 1,200 sqm center and expects to see a return on the investment within five years. Makro head Guillaume Chene hopes to attract new clients from hotels, restaurants and catering companies (HORECO), as he believes this sector has great growth potential in the Czech Republic.
Makro’s Prague culinary center, equipped with the latest technologies, will be the largest in the CE region. It will test new products and offer training to HORECO professionals and food retailers. Makro also plans to open a new store in the Prague city center that would sell fresh groceries. This specialized store will be a third smaller than the usual Makro stores and is set to open in three years.
