Income for the McDonald’s chain of restaurants in the Czech Republic rose 11.2 percent in 2019 to CZK 6.47 billion, according to its spokeswoman Jitka Pajurkova. It operates a network of 104 outlets in the country which continues to expand. “We plan to open several new restaurants each year, primarily on our own land that will have a drive-in,” she said. New McDonald’s recently opened in Prague 11’s Haje neighborhood and another in Olomouc. In part due to the pandemic, the percentage of take-out orders has risen from 40 to 50 percent. McDonald’s employs 6,500 people in the Czech Republic.
