US fast food chain McDonald’s is reporting an 1.8 percent increase in revenues to CZK 4.2bn in the Czech Republic last year. They have thus returned to the 2012 levels following a fall in 2013. The number of orders in the restaurants was up 2 percent, but the company did not publish its profit figures. Its director in the Czech Republic Tomasz Rogacz told ČTK that the Czech food sector is highly competitive and that the company cannot expect to achieve the sort of growth it enjoyed before 2010. McDonald’s currently operates 95 restaurants in the Czech Republic and has a workforce of 6,300. In 2015 it plans to invest heavily into the redesign of the restaurants in its network.
