Meliá is planning to open 23 new hotels this year in different cities around the world as part of its extensive expansion plans. Six new hotels will be opened in Latin America and the Caribbean. New locations include the Gran Meliá Nacional Río de Janeiro, which is set to open soon. In Europe, the Spanish hotel chain is poised to open another five locations, including three in Spain.
