Mercator’s group sales revenue grew 0.4 percent to €1.06bn in the first six months of the year, while net profit increased by 58.4 percent to €2.4m. The profit before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) jumped by about 73 percent to €83m, and the group’s operating profit was up more than 76 percent to €29.9m. “We will continue to consistently execute our strategy, since both the long-term development of Mercator as the largest Slovenian and regional retailer and the development of the entire chain of the food processing industry in Slovenia and the region depend on it,” said Mercator CEO Tomislav Cizmic. The company is currently developing a new logistics and distribution center in Ljubljana.
