Metro is planning to expand its store in Nitra, western Slovakia. The German wholesale chain will add 1,000 sqm to its existing facility and expand its 7,000 sqm distribution center, which serves hotels, restaurants and catering companies. Metro will build the new addition on land it owns next to its existing store. The company has invested €5.5m into improving its distribution services in Slovakia over the past three years. The chain opened a new distribution center in Devínská Nova Ves in October. The 2,500 sqm facility cost €2.5m.
