The Mid Europa fund plans to invest PLN 1.5bn in its Żabka grocery store chain. Targeting large cities across Poland, the fund intends to add nearly 2,500 Żabka stores to the regional market over the next five years, according to the daily Puls Biznesu. Once its expansion is completed, Mid Europa will have 5,000 stores operating across Poland.
Under the new strategy, Mid Europa expects to open 500 new locations next year.
