The Hungarian-based gas station chain MOL has opened its first branded store in the Prague shopping mall Arkady. The Czech News Agency reports that the new Fresh Corner store is the first of its kind in the Czech Republic. “We plan to open more Fresh Corner stores outside of our usual retail network by the end of the year,” said Tomáš Lux from MOL, adding that the concept would be implemented in all 306 MOL gas stations by 2019 and in all 114 Pap Oil stations (also owned by MOL) by 2020. MOL has hit upon a different way of promoting its core business than Shell, which has begun cooperating with Costa Coffee to attract customers to its stations, says Chytrý Honza analyst Karel Kotoun, according to CTK.
