N. Macedonia builds EUR 17.2 mln power line to Albania

North Macedonia started the construction of a 400 kilovolt power transmission line to Albania, according to the government. The investment project is worth EUR 17.2 million.

The new power line will connect North Macedonia’s Bitola to Albania’s Elbasan and is part of a bigger project for a power link with Albania worth EUR 50 million euro.

The whole project is supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development which is extending a EUR 37 million loan, and Western Balkans Investment Framework, which is providing a grant of EUR 12 million.
