New alliance deal between Morrison and Ocado

9 August 2016

Morrison Supermarkets have agreed to new terms with the online grocer Ocado, which will expand Morrisons home delivery service. With this new deal, Morrisons will boost its online shopping capacity and increase its ability reach more customers. This is currently limited and does not include areas such as Scotland or the South West. The two grocers first began working together in 2013, allowing Morrisons to launch its own online business, albeit years after its main rivals.

Under the new terms, Ocado will have fewer restrictions on how it works with other retailers, though barriers will remain with prime competitors such as Tesco, Sainsbury’s, and Asda.
