The construction of Energy 1 Krusevac, a new biomass power plant, should start in September. The primary source of the energy at the facility will be wood biomass and will be connected to the power grid of Elektrodistribucija. The Serbian company Synergy Invest from Krusevac and the Italian contractor Building Energy from Milan cooperate on the plant, which would produce 4.8 MW of electricity and 28 MW of heating energy.
This plant is to be built in an existing industrial zone and will cover 60,000 sqm along with additional area for storing fuel. The Italian company will invest around €28m, estimated to be 80 percent of the total investment costs. Synergy Invest is to invest the remainder.
