NoVa Park receives the BREEAM® In-Use ecological certificate for the eighth time

9 April 2021

Continuously since 2014, NoVa Park has been subject to the BREEAM® In-Use certification process, which is one of the most important environmental assessment systems for buildings in Europe. This year, the Gorzów Center obtained the “excellent” result in the “Asset Performance” category and “very good” in the “Building Management” category.

The center is equipped with devices for the protection of the environment and automatic systems for reading meter readings and controlling devices, which enable optimization of their operation in terms of energy efficiency. The applied technological solutions contribute to lower energy consumption and higher protection against pollutant emissions.

The pro-ecological activities of NoVa Park are also aimed at the protection of biodiversity. The center does not forget about green areas that play a significant role in the urban ecosystem. The area of green areas is approximately 7,200 sqm, which accounts for 17% of the entire area of the center. The area around the property is surrounded by shrubs and trees that are breeding grounds, as is the common ivy that covers the north wall of the NoVa Park building. The presence of a pond located in the north-eastern part of NoVa Park also has a positive effect on biodiversity.

“We are glad that we were able to obtain the BREEAM® In-Use certificate once again, this time even with a better percentage than the last time, despite the tightened certification criteria related to, among others, with proper management and recycling of waste, energy efficiency, optimization of water consumption or the health and well-being of the users of the facility and the development of green areas. NoVa Park is still the only shopping center in the Lubuskie Province that can boast of this green certificate, ”says Katarzyna Jaster, Deputy Director of NoVa Park.
