Ocean Breeze Golf Club to overgo $18m renovation after sale

6 March 2018

Greater Boca Raton Beach and Park District and the City of Boca Raton has closed on the acquisition of the former Ocean Breeze Golf Club. The 27-hole golf course, located at 5801 Northwest Second Avenue, was purchased in 2016 from an entity of Wells Fargo, which seized the property through foreclosure. The city approved the purchase in May 2017, and Park District estimates it will cost $18m to renovate the course. The 212-acre property, which will be rebranded as Boca Raton National Golf Club, is slated to open by late 2019 or early 2020. Homebuilder Lennar Homes had plans to develop the site, but the plans fell through after facing opposition from local residents.
