OMV Petrom anticipates record profit

OMV Petrom senses a big year in 2012, predicting a record profit of RON 3.784 bn (€867.8 m), which would just edge out the company’s 2011 result of RON 3.685 bn.
It expects turnover, however, to fall 4.6% this year to RON 15.796 bn (€3.6 bn). According to the 2012 budget plan which will be submitted for approval to OMV Petrom’s general shareholder meeting on April 27, the turnover of the company has this year, 4.6 percent lower than the RON 16.56 bn reported in 2011.
The company anticipates its natural gas production reaching 5.057 billion cubic meters, 3% lower than its 5.214 billion cubic meters result for 2011. Meanwhile, oil production would remain constant at 29.3 million barrels.
