One in three Hungarians does not plan any Christmas shopping

9 December 2020

According to a survey by Cofidis Credit Monitor one out of three Hungarians does not intend to do Christmas shopping this year. According to Cofidis this is because many Hungarians believe this Christmas should be more frugal. The average shopping basket for presents will be worth EUR 15 less than in 2019, with clothing, perfumes, toys and beverage being the most popular gifts. The survey showed that the purchase of wellness holidays and tickets to concerts and theatre plays are next to zero. “The lockdown is still in place, tourist travel and events are banned by law, so nobody plans on taking any risks” we learn from the Budapest Chamber of Commerce.
