Czechs who were hoping to take care of their Christmas shopping in the new Primark on Wenceslas Square will be disappointed by news that the British chain has again delayed its grand opening. The company wouldn’t give a new date for when it would be welcoming in customers, saying only through a PR agency that it would provide further information “in the coming weeks.” It cited concerns over worker safety as the reason for sacrificing holidays sales, as there are concerns that stores have been allowed to open too soon. On the other hand, it’s unclear just how profitable opening up under current conditions would be. The daily Hospodarske noviny writes that with the number of customers allowed in stores limited to just 1 per 15 square meters, Primark could theoretically let in just one hundred people at a time. The popular fashion retailer’s first flagship (and first) store in the Czech Republic’s will be located in The Flow building, a mixed-use project by Flow East.
