Pet Center is set to build a network of hotels for dogs across the Czech Republic as well as Bratislava. The pet food retailer, owned by Penta investment group, opened its first dog hotel in Prague in July next to its store at the P3 logistics park in Horní Počernice. The investment cost CZK 3.2m. The company plans to start construction on additional hotel next spring in Brno, followed by a second dog hotel in Prague. It intends to expand into regional cities, buying buildings with land. Pet Center operates 140 stores on the Czech and Slovak markets and plans to open 10 more before the end of the year. Larger superstores are also in the works along with vet clinics.
