Phones 4u going out of business

15 September 2014

Having lost its contract with Vodafone as of next September, the mobile phone retailer Phones 4u has filed documentation requesting administrator protection. The company will close closed all 550 of its stores across the UK, and the jobs of all 5,596 employees are at risk. It has requested that PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP act for it as administrator. Another phone network operator EE also indicated it would be continue without Phones 4u retail support, as it was looking to distribute its phones through more direct channels. “If the mobile network operators decline to supply us, we do not have a business,” wrote Phones 4u CEO David Kassler in a statement.
