Pietro Filip criticizes ban on changing rooms in fashion stores

Shops of up to 2,500 sqm will be allowed to open today in the Czech Republic, so long as they’re not located in shopping centers of more than 5,000 sqm. But permission to do business is coming with new operational rules from hygienic authorities. Among the most problematic is the ban on customers in clothing shops from trying on clothes. Pietro Filip Ladislav Pštros complained to the Czech News Agency that the new rules are discriminatory and unfair. “How is it possible that it’s been possible to try on clothes in the larger hypermarkets throughout the crisis,” he asked. “What’s the different that means shoes can be tried on but coats can’t be?” He said stores would have no problem limiting the number of people trying on clothes at any one time and could disinfect the changing rooms after each use. The government has demanded that shoes can be tried on only with socks (something most stores already require) and that customers disinfect their hands first.
