Poland’s shopping center stock totaled nearly 12 million sqm in 510 properties at the end of the first quarter of this year, according to Collier International, with an additional 433,000 sqm currently under construction. A year has passed since the Sunday retail trading ban was introduced. Owners of shopping centers and their tenants as well as individual businesses have reported declines in traffic and turnover. In 2018, the number of visitors to 120 shopping centers surveyed by the Retail Institute decreased by 1.9 percent y-o-y or 7.23 million fewer customers. The sectors most affected are health and beauty, services and gastronomy.
