Polenergia, the largest private, vertically integrated Polish energy group, has been running its own apiary for two months. Half a million bees living in 10 beehives and a melliferous plant meadow of several hectares increase the biodiversity of the PV Sulechów I farm, which has a capacity of 8 MW. This is the group’s very first photovoltaic project. Polenergia’s apiary in Sulechów is overseen by the Plon family company from Piotrków Trybunalski. After two months of intense care, all bee swarms are developing well and working hard on the agricultural areas surrounding the photovoltaic farms. Between 20 and 40 kilograms of honey can be harvested from each beehive annually.
