Polish domestic electricity consumption increased by 8.54% y / y in July

Domestic electricity consumption increased by 8.54% annually and amounted to 14.45 TWh in July 2021, according to data from Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne (PSE).

Cumulatively, in the period January-July 2021, domestic consumption increased by 7.3% y / y to 100.81 TWh.

Total electricity production increased by 20.64% y / y to 14.41 TWh in July, PSE also announced on its website. In the period of January-July 2021, production increased by 13.33% y / y to 97.5 TWh.

In July 2021, commercial thermal power plants produced, among others, 7.83 TWh of electricity from hard coal (increase by 39.81% yoy), 3.97 TWh from lignite (increase by 26.17% yoy), while in gas power plants – 1.12 TWh ( drop by 0.35%), and in wind farms – 0.61 TWh (drop by 22.51% y / y), also reported by PSE.

In the period of January-July 2021, commercial thermal power plants produced 52.53 TWh of electricity from hard coal (increase by 33.19% y / y), 25.18 TWh from lignite (increase by 15.43% y / y) r) and 7.56 TWh in gas power plants (decrease by 2.58%), and in wind farms – 7.37 TWh (decrease by 14.73% y / y).

Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne (PSE) is the operator of the electricity transmission system in Poland. They own over 15,000 km of lines and over 100 extra-high voltage substations.
