Prague 8 hopes to acquire part of a 64,500 sqm area of land in Libeň near the Palmovka metro station, but the vast brownfield stretching along Sokolovská street is currently owned by Czech Railways. “Prague 8’s city council has agreed that the City of Prague will acquire the 8,800 sqm plot in an exchange of various plots. The city would then give this particular plot to Prague 8,” explains the Prague 8 mayor Jiří Janků. His administration claims it would re-develop the desolate area into a park.
