Prague loses complaint against releasing land to Knights of Malta

23 June 2016

The Prague City Council wasn’t successful with its constitutional complaint against the land issuance by the State Land Institute to the Knights of Malta. The complain has been dismissed by the Constitutional Court on the basis that it was filed prematurely and therefore inadmissible. The State Land Department issued tens of hectares of land in Březiněves to the Knights of Malta last year as part of a settlement with the Catholic church. The proposal to submit a complaint was filed by the mayor of Břevnov Jiří Haramul, who had hoped to build a school on the land that was given away.
