DIY retailer Praktiker, now under new management, is planning to open a store in Targu-Jiu next week, bringing the total number of locations in its Romanian network to 28. The retailer also intends to open another store in Giurgiu by the end of the year.
The expansion efforts comes several months after Search Chemicals, owned by Turkish investor Omer Susli, bought Praktiker’s Romanian business in February. Susli is hoping to relaunch the brand on the Romanian market, claiming the chain suffered from poor management decisions made by the previous owner. Susli plans to open an addition 18 stores over the next two years.
