Profits at Pražská energetika (PRE) fell slightly to CZK 2.85bn in 2019, despite an 8.1 percent rise in turnover to CZK 21.9bn. The company reports that it delivered 5.94 terawatt hours of electricity (1.4 percent up) to its clients last year along with 469 gigawatt hours of natural gas (a jump of 21.2 percent. The results meant that its EBITDA rose 3.7 percent, exceeding CZK 5bn for the first time in the company’s history. PRE is planning to pay a CZK 445 dividend, which would be similar to the CZK 436 it delivered in 2019. Management, meanwhile, has suggested that it pay itself CZK 24.2m in profits, funds that would be divided between members of its various boards of directors. The City of Prague owns 58 percent of the company, while EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg owns roughly 41.4 percent.
