The popular discount fashion retailer Primark has confirmed that it will be opening its first store in The Flow Building on Wenceslas Square. The 4,700 sqm store is likely to attract not just crowds of tourists to the top of the iconic square, but many Czechs as well who were previously willing to travel to Dresden just to see what deals the price-conscious store had to offer. “We were looking for an appropriate location to open our first Czech store and this building provided an excellent opportunity how to be in the very heart of the city,” head of real estate for Primark. The new building has been designed to be highly energy efficient by using LED lighting, triple glazed windows and what the daily Denik.cz describes as an energy efficient vertical transport system. The building is being developed by Flow East.
