PSE: Domestic electricity consumption increased by 5.36% y / y in 2021.

Domestic electricity consumption increased by 5.36% annually and amounted to 174.4 TWh in 2021, according to data from Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne (PSE).

In December 2021, domestic consumption increased by 6.12% y / y to 16.23 TWh.

Total electricity production increased by 13.97% y / y to 173.58 TWh in January-December 2021, PSE also reported on its website. In December 2021 alone, production increased by 14.58% y / y to 16.65 TWh.

In the period of January-December 2021, utility thermal power plants produced 93.04 TWh of electricity from hard coal (increase by 30.04% y / y), 45.37 TWh from lignite (increase by 19.48% y / y) r) and 13.37 TWh in gas power plants (decrease by 4.01%), and in wind farms – 14.23 TWh (increase by 0.42% y / y).

In December 2021, commercial thermal power plants produced, among others, 8.49 TWh of electricity from hard coal (increase by 20.57% yoy), 4.81 TWh from lignite (increase by 58.67% yoy), while in gas power plants – 1.33 TWh ( decrease by 11.32%), and in wind farms – 1.71 TWh (increase by 4.59% y / y), also reported by PSE.

Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne (PSE) is the operator of the electricity transmission system in Poland. They own over 15,000 km of lines and over 100 extra-high voltage substations.
