Publix Super Markets has acquired the Courtyard Shops at Wellington, where it acts as the anchor tenant, for $52.8 million. Sitting on 17.1 acres the 129,036 square foot property traded for $409 per square foot. The center totals 110,724 square feet and encompasses national tenants IHOP, UPS Store, TCBY, and Tijuana Flats along with Publix. The purchase also includes 18,762 of square feet of buildings with tenants that include a Chase Bank branch, a McDonald’s restaurant, a Shell service station, a Bank of America branch, and a Wells Fargo Bank branch. The seller, Maryland-based retail REIT Federal Realty Investment Trust, bought the center in 2000 for $20.7 million.
