Quadoro and EB-SIM launch groundbreaking renewable energy fund under article 9

17 September 2024

In a landmark move for sustainable investment, Quadoro Investment GmbH and EB-Sustainable Investment Management GmbH (EB-SIM) have announced the launch of the Quadoro Erneuerbare Energien Europa (QEEE) open-ended mutual fund. The fund is the first of its kind to meet the stringent standards of Article 9 of the EU Disclosure Regulation, earning the highest sustainability classification.

This new fund is set to transform the renewable energy investment landscape, focusing exclusively on green energy projects across Europe. The QEEE fund targets investments in wind and solar power, with a geographic emphasis on Germany, France, Scandinavia, and the Iberian Peninsula. It promises a projected return of 6% after costs, making it an attractive option for both private and professional investors who are committed to environmentally responsible investing.

Quadoro Investment GmbH, part of the Doric Group, has partnered with EB-SIM, a recognized leader in sustainable asset management and a subsidiary of Evangelische Bank, to develop QEEE. Together, they aim to provide investors with a product that not only delivers solid returns but also actively contributes to reducing carbon emissions. At least 75% of the fund’s assets will comply with the sustainability criteria set forth in the EU Taxonomy and Disclosure Ordinance.

“The introduction of QEEE marks a significant step in our mission to offer future-proof investments. We’re excited to open this opportunity to private investors who are looking for stable returns while contributing to global decarbonization efforts,” said Michael Denk, Managing Director of Quadoro Investment GmbH. “This fund is built on established technologies, diverse project portfolios, and is fully aligned with both the Paris climate goals and Quadoro’s real estate decarbonization strategy.”

The QEEE fund is designed as an impact fund, meaning it will maintain strict transparency in tracking and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. By focusing on renewable energy projects, QEEE supports the transition to a low-carbon economy and contributes directly to reducing CO2-equivalent emissions across the European Economic Area. Investors will not only benefit from potential financial gains but also from tax advantages, making it eligible for savings plans.

Michael Hepers, Managing Director & Chief Customer Officer of EB-SIM, emphasized the growing importance of renewable energy investments. “The demand for sustainable investments continues to grow rapidly, and QEEE is perfectly positioned to meet this demand. Our partnership with Quadoro is focused on accelerating decarbonization and ensuring that investors can play a crucial role in this global effort.”

As the renewable energy sector experiences exponential growth, QEEE offers a pioneering opportunity for investors to make a positive environmental impact while pursuing financial returns. Backed by the extensive expertise of Quadoro and EB-SIM in managing real assets and sustainable funds, the fund is set to lead the way in the next generation of green investment.
