5 May 2022

Raiffeisen Bank obtained a profit of RON 218 million in Q1 2022, 10 percent up compared to Q1 2021.

The increase of the profit was determined by the increase of the transactional activity of the clients, both individuals and companies, in parallel with the maintenance of the risk profile of the bank at a very good level.

“Our good results in the first three months of 2022 reflect the process of economic recovery, manifested immediately after the most critical period of the pandemic. Thus, the bank’s net loan balance increased by 19 percent compared to Q1 2021, with good results for all the stock of loans granted to corporations registered an excellent evolution, with an increase of 30 percent, while the credit activity for the SME customer category generated a stock advance of almost 10 percent, and for the loans granted to individuals we had a similar increase of 11% year-on-year. However, we are facing an extremely unpredictable and difficult situation, the war in Ukraine, which is causing changes in customer behavior,” said Zdenek Romanek, President & CEO of Raiffeisen Bank.
