Record sales for Sphera Franchise Group in Romania, but net loss in H1

Sphera Franchise Group, the company that operates the KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell franchises in Romania, made a net loss of RON 8.7 million in the first six months of this year, compared to a net profit of RON 5.2 million in the same period from 2021.

“The excellent performance at the level of total revenues and net profit in the second quarter helped to partially recover the Group’s losses from Q1 2022. Consequently, in the first six months of 2022, the Group recorded, compared to H1 2021, consolidated revenues of RON 606 million (increasing by 36 percent), EBITDA of RON 21.2 million (down by 29 percent) and a net loss of RON 8.7 million against a net profit of RON 5.2 million”, it is mentioned in the company communique.

The group ended the first six months of 2022 with a 33 percent increase in sales in Romania, 34 percent in the Republic of Moldova and 64 percent in Italy.
