Redan Group plans to restructure Polish network

21 January 2013

In an effort to avoid a decrease in sales, Redan Group aims to restructure and optimize its Polish network. The retailer announced plans to shut down unprofitable locations and replace them with ones that have greater potential. The company said it will also focus on developing e-commerce, franchise businesses and foreign activities.
“We have slowed down the pace for our TextilMarket chain in order to focus on increasing its profitability, but that doesn’t mean we won’t be opening new stores,” said Grzegorz Lipnicki, vice-president at Top Secret, a Redan subsidiary.
Redan added 42 new stores to its regional network last year, focusing mostly on what it describes as prime locations. The company currently has 505 stores in Poland. “We expect consumer demand to decrease this year, since all the indicators show the country will slip into recession in the coming months,” said Lipnicki.
