Developers shift their focus to the regions for retail projects in Slovakia, according to JLL. The prime retail stock totals currently 1.584 million sqm, following the opening of City Arena in Trnava with 24,000 sqm, Forum Poprad on 23,000 sqm and Galéria in Lučenec (11,000 sqm). The Bratislava region accounts for approximately 38 percent, followed by Košice, Nitra and Žilina regions. Daniel Kúth, Senior Consultant Retail JLL Slovakia says that developers are now particularly interested in regional cities with lower saturation of prime retail. Prešov is one of the cities where two schemes are being planned for delivery in 2017 and are now fighting for retail tenants. Eperia by J&T with 22,000 sqm of GLA and the 27,000 sqm Forum by Multi.
