The Czech government has extended the lockdown until April 11, meaning that people are to remain at home at all times unless they work. While it’s allowed to shop for food and medicines and to visit doctors, public offices and the post offices, it’s illegal to go outside without a mask. Czech police have been enforcing the rules, handing out fines for people they find on the streets without masks or meeting in groups of more than two. But the media continues to uncover cases of illegal coronavirus parties taking place as well as examples of groups of people congregating in parks or around bards. A new quarantine system is being tested in the Southern Moravian region that will employ soldiers to track down and test the recent contacts of newly tested coronavirus patients. If successful, the system will be rolled out across the country after Easter.
