Rewe Group announced it rebranded its Penny Market XXL locations. The stores will now be called XXL Mega Discount. The stores have been refurbished and redesigned and now sell more products and services than before.
The German retailer has maintained a steady expansion pace over the past couple of years, opening 13 outlets in 2011 and 12 in 2012.
Active in Romania since 2001, Rewe Group has six XXL Mega Discounts shops and 136 Penny Markets in its regional network. The retailer has 2,800 employees in Romania. Rewe Group reported a turnover of €48bn in 2011.
